FAYETTE, Ohio - A rural Bryan man was killed yesterday when his car was hit head on by a tractor trailer that crossed the center line of U.S. 20 in the far northwest corner of Fulton County, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Mark Lupton, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers at the patrol's Toledo post said.

Duglass Moore, 51, of Detroit, the semi driver, initially was taken to the Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon, and later flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, where he was in serious condition last night.

Mr. Moore was eastbound on U.S. 20, between county Roads 26 and 27 in Gorham Township, about 5:15 p.m. when the semi collided with Mr. Lupton's westbound car, troopers said.

Mr. Moore's truck was transporting a load of brake calipers to a TRW Inc. auto parts plant in Fayette.
