The Blade s Road Warrior advises readers each Friday where the biggest driving headaches will be throughout the construction season. He ll tell you the locations
to avoid and the detours to take.
All major routes between Toledo and Brooklyn, Mich., will be construction-free this weekend during the season s first NASCAR races at Michigan International
Speedway, the Michigan Department of Transportation reports.
That includes a work zone on northbound U.S. 23 just over the Ohio-Michigan border that was set up last week. Construction there was finished this week, MDOT
spokesman Kari Arend said. Work on U.S. 223 and M-50 also has been suspended for the weekend.
Don t plan on taking the scenic route to Brooklyn, however.
Construction continues on U.S. 23 north of Dundee, Mich., and there s a work zone on U.S. 12 in Saline, Mich., too.
