Woodville man honored in new state trooper class

LONDON, Ohio - The Ohio Highway Patrol commissioned 30 new troopers, including 12 assigned to northwest Ohio posts, during a ceremony yesterday at the patrol's Training Academy.

Each new trooper is to report to his or her post Monday. In all, 20 of the patrol's 55 posts will get new troopers.

Six of the graduates received honors, including Jason N. Archer of Woodville, who was recognized for overall performance. He is assigned to the Toledo post.

Others assigned to area posts are:

Bowling Green post: Matthew R. Abbey, of Warren; Marquis J. Shannon, of Reynoldsburg, and John-Paul S. Toth, of Westlake.

Defiance post: Shelly R. Ledyard, of Wauseon.

Findlay post: Justin G. Craig, of Ada, and Zachary J. Yoder, of Bellefontaine.

Fremont post: Jacob T. Tidaback, of New Washington.

Milan post: Thurman D. Peterson, of Euclid.

Sandusky post: Jason F. Schneider, of Canton.

Van Wert post: Jeremy A. Kindler, of Ashtabula, and Steven G. Posada, of Celina.
