HILLSDALE - A Union City, Mich., man was hurt when a small plane he was operating flipped over on a runway at Hillsdale Municipal Airport while landing in windy conditions, the Hillsdale County Sheriff's Office said.

Kenneth William Strong, 67, the pilot, sought his own treatment for minor injuries sustained in the accident, according to the sheriff's office.

As the plane was coming to a stop about 8:50 a.m. Sunday, a strong gust of wind and a steering overcorrection by the pilot caused the plane to flip over, the sheriff's office said.
