Services set for Monday for Oak Harbor sergeant killed in Iraq

OAK HARBOR, Ohio - Funeral services have been set for Army Sgt. Keith Kline, 24, of Oak Harbor, who was killed Thursday when the vehicle he was in struck an improvised explosive device in Baghdad.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Oak Harbor High School auditorium. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the high school auditorium.

Sergeant Kline was a 2002 graduate of Oak Harbor High, where he was a star wrestler.

Arrangements are by the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Oak Harbor.

Sergeant Kline was a communications systems support specialist with the Army.

He and Maj. James Ahearn, 43, of California, who also was killed in the explosion, were assigned to the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion, 95th Civil Affairs Brigade, based at Fort Bragg, N.C. Their unit was supporting the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, in Baghdad.

Sergeant Kline, who had completed a three-year commitment and re-enlisted, was in Iraq about three months - his first tour of duty there.
