ANTWERP, Ohio - U.S. 24 near Antwerp will be closed for the funeral procession of three emergency medical workers early this afternoon.

The procession is expected to begin about 2 p.m., following services at 1 p.m. in Antwerp High School, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation, which warned of long delays.

Officers stationed where the road is blocked off will advise motorists of alternative routes, according to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office.

A dispatcher at the Ohio Highway Patrol's Van Wert post suggested drivers consider State Rts. 127 and 111 to avoid the area.

The procession is to start at the school, make a loop into the village, and then go to Maumee Cemetery just east of Antwerp.

From the school on Carryall Township Road 43, the procession is to travel north on Road 43, west on Canal Street, north on State Rt. 49, east on U.S. 24, and north on County Road 43, which is also called Harrmann Street in the village.
