Ohio Supreme Court upholds Toledo's vicious dog ordinance; pit bull owner vows appeal

(Updated at 2:25 p.m.) COLUMBUS Toledo and state laws singling out pit bulls as inherently vicious dogs are constitutional, the Ohio Supreme Court unanimously ruled this morning. The dog owner who brought the legal challenge vowed to seek an appeal before the U.S. Supreme Court.

(Posted at 9:55 a.m.) COLUMBUS Gov. Ted Strickland's first-day show of defiance by vetoing a bill his predecessor intended to become law was struck down this morning by the Ohio Supreme Court.

(Updated at 3:52 p.m.) Bowling Green State University is one of 40 universities served subpoenas and document requests today by New York State Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo as part of the ongoing investigation into the student loan industry.

(Posted at 2:50 a.m.)Toledo Police have closed St. Clair Street, between Monroe and Washington streets near Fifth Third Field, because of a water main break that occurred this afternoon. The narrow Perry Street is also reportedly closed because of the incident.
