3 hurt in Sylvania Twp. collision

Three people were seriously hurt in an accident this morning in Sylvania Township after a motorist drove through an intersection without stopping, police said.

The names of those injured were not released.

A sport utility vehicle traveling northbound on Mitchaw Road failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a pickup truck that was westbound on Brint Road about 8:55 a.m., police said. There is no stop sign on Brint Road near the Mitchaw Road intersection.

Both vehicles went off the road and hit trees, police said.

The driver of the pickup was airlifted to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. His passenger and the driver of the sport utility vehicle were taken to Toledo Hospital, police said.
