Product recall: Toothpaste sold to retail stores in Michigan, Ohio

Donnamax Inc. of Brooklyn, N.Y., is recalling DentaPro brand Cavity Fighting Fluoride Toothpaste Fresh Spearmint Flavor and Bright Max Toothpaste because the products, which were made in China, may contain diethylene glycol.

The chemical is found in antifreeze and is toxic to the kidneys and liver. No illnesses have been reported to date, according to the company.

The recalled Cavity Fighting Fluoride Toothpaste is identified by the item No. 9112 and the UPC code 8 71290 - 00062 5; Bright Max Toothpaste has the item no. 91111.

The products were sold to retail stores in the following states: New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Mississippi, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Idaho.
