At least one injured when tanker truck overturns on Airport Highway

At least one person was hurt in a traffic accident involving a tanker truck, which overturned about 6:55 this morning in the 1700 block of Airport Highway in south Toledo, spilling diesel fuel, authorities said.

The victim, whose name and condition were not released, was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly Medical College of Ohio, according to the Lucas County EMS.

A fire department HAZMAT team is on the scene, working to contain the spill and the intersection with Western Avenue has been shut down until further notice.
