Crash in northeast Hancock County hurts three

VAN BUREN, Ohio At least one person is in a hospital after a car and a minivan collided yesterday in northeast Hancock County about 35 miles south of Toledo.

Morgan Baker, 18, of Fostoria, a passenger in the car, was airlifted to the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly Medical College of Ohio, the Hancock County Sheriff s Office said.

Morgan Baker, whose condition is not being released, is a patient at the hospital, a nursing supervisor at the hospital said. Blake Lemley, also 18 and of Fostoria, the driver of the car, reported minor injuries and wasn t hospitalized, sheriff s deputies said.

The driver of the minivan, Julie Sopher, 46, of Findlay, also was airlifted to University of Toledo Medical Center, sheriff s deputies said. A nursing supervisor at the hospital said this morning that no information was available about a person by that name.

The crash occurred about 5:10 p.m. at State Rt. 613 and State Rt. 18 in Hancock County s Cass Township. The impact pushed both vehicles off the road, sheriff s deputies said. They released no other details about the crash.
