Monroe teen seriously hurt in crash in LaSalle Township
8/15/2007ERIE, Mich. A Monroe teen is in critical condition after a single-car crash earlier this morning in Monroe County's LaSalle Township.
James L. Goins, 18, the driver of the car, was airlifted to Toledo Hospital.
He was wearing a seat belt, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said.
The crash occurred about 4:45 a.m. on South Telegraph Road near East Rauch Road in LaSalle Township, about 10 miles north of Toledo.
Mr. Goins was southbound on South Telegraph when the car traveled off the right side of the roadway and onto a gravel shoulder. He over-corrected, drove back onto the road, and crashed into the median. The car then overturned and came to rest against a tree, sheriff's deputies said.
