A group that wants to start a community coalition to address underage drinking and substance abuse in the Anthony Wayne Local School District much like coalitions operating elsewhere in the county will receive a $150,000 federal grant.

The Community Partnership, formerly the Lucas County Community Prevention Partnership and based in South Toledo, is to receive $75,000 a year for two years from the Office of National Drug Control Policy through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Anthony Wayne group is expected to have goals and a plan for operating a coalition by late next summer, Community Partnership officials said.
