Places set in Defiance, B.G. to donate flood aid

BOWLING GREEN Residents who would like to help victims of last week s flooding may bring supplies and monetary donations to the parking lot next to the Flower Basket, 165 South Main St., between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. tomorrow.

A city truck will be in the parking lot to accept cleaning supplies, mops, buckets, bottled water, and diapers and deliver them to communities in northwest Ohio identified by the American Red Cross.

Monetary donations made out to Red Cross Flood Relief also will be accepted at the collection. It is sponsored by the city and the BG Unity Coalition, a group of downtown businesses.

In Defiance, a van will be parked outside the Defiance Regional Medical Center today and then at First and Clinton streets tomorrow to collect cleaning supplies, bottled water, and financial contributions. The effort is being sponsored by the hospital, ClearChannel, and the Volunteer Connection/CERT program.
