NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - A Custar, Ohio, man remained in critical condition yesterday in University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly Medical College of Ohio Hospital, after the all-terrain vehicle he was driving collided with a car on Needles Road, authorities said.

Donny J. Householder, 30, was eastbound on Needles, about a half-mile east of Rangeline Road, about 7:30 p.m. Saturday when he struck a westbound car driven by Deborah Fackler, 55, of Custar.

Ms. Fackler, who was treated at Wood County Hospital, told Wood County sheriff's deputies that the ATV came right at her "like he was flying. He was coming so fast."

The crash was the first of two incidents involving ATVs in southern Wood County over the weekend.

About 6 p.m. Sunday, Anthony E. Ickes, 37, of Bairdstown, Ohio, was driving an ATV in a grass field off Bairdstown Road when he attempted to turn and the four-wheeler went out of control and rolled over, according to the sheriff's office.

He was admitted to Wood County Hospital, but no condition was available yesterday.
