A Toledo woman who was struck by two hit-and-run drivers early Saturday morning died from massive head injuries, Dr. James Patrick, Lucas County coroner, said.

Sasha Kemp, 19, of 1613 West Central Ave., was standing on Central near Jackman Road about 1:50 a.m., trying to flag down a car when a vehicle hit her, knocking her into the path of an oncoming vehicle, police said.

The driver left the scene, police said.

The oncoming vehicle attempted to swerve around Ms. Kemp, but hit her while she was lying in the street. The driver then crashed into a fence at nearby Woodlawn Cemetery and fled on foot, police said.

Ms. Kemp was taken to Toledo Hospital, where she died Saturday, hospital officials said.

The official ruling on the manner of death is pending results of toxicology tests, Dr. Patrick said.

Police do not have any information on the identity of the two drivers.
