Plane crash near Defiance kills pilot

DEFIANCE A single-engine Piper plane crashed about 10:30 this morning on Whetstone Road about a half-mile south of U.S. 24 just southwest of here, killing the pilot, the Ohio Highway Patrol in Defiance said.

Defiance is about 50 miles southwest of Toledo.
