Wednesday practice

10/11/2007

D.J. Lenehan will start at QB against Buffalo on Saturday, but Travaris Cadet is back to leading the scout team.

That s because Aaron Opelt was able to do everything at practice Wednesday. Opelt took some reps with the first-team offense, trying to shake off the rust.

Aaron will be on the trip and we ll see how things go, coach Tom Amstutz said. He ll be in uniform but we re still checking him day by day.

As for other injured players, Nick Moore is questionable for Saturday. He is waiting for the swelling in his hand to go down before he can practice.

Nigel Morris and Douglas Westbrook each had surgeries Wednesday Morris on his shoulder and Westbrook on his knee.

Tyrrell Herbert participated in a short catching drill for the receivers off to the side during special teams practice. He was thrilled to be doing anything.

I had to check my roster to see who No. 86 was after he made a tough catch and everyone was cheering him for his nice hands. It was freshman tight end Danny Noble, finally on the practice field after waiting months for the NCAA Clearinghouse ruling.
