LIBERTY CENTER, Ohio - Four Ottawa-Glandorf High School girls were hurt - two seriously - in a two-vehicle crash yesterday evening when the car in which they were riding ran a stop sign and was hit by an oncoming sport utility vehicle in northern Henry County's Liberty Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Authorities did not release the names of the victims last night.

The driver of the car and a backseat passenger, in the vehicle carrying the high school girls, were flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, troopers at the patrol's Bowling Green post said.

The other two passengers were taken by ambulance to Henry County Hospital, Napoleon.

Their conditions were not immediately available.

The sport utility vehicle driver was taken to Henry County Hospital and the condition of his passenger was unknown, troopers said.

A girl driving a Pontiac Grand Am traveling north on State Rt. 109 about 6:40 p.m. failed to stop at a stop sign before turning left onto U.S. 24, and a Jeep traveling east crashed into the driver's side of the car, troopers said.

The girls were believed to be going to a volleyball match at Liberty Center High School, where a district tournament was being held, troopers said.
