Findlay sets hearing on development plan

10/24/2007

FINDLAY A hearing to discuss plans for a controversial $90 million development of the former Brandman Tire dump near downtown was scheduled after residents inundated city council with concerns Monday.

Some residents fear the large-scale retail, office, residential, and recreational development could increase the risk of flooding in the city. The Thayer Group of Lexington, Ky., has plans to develop the property, which is along the flood-prone Blanchard River.

City and business leaders along with the developer will outline the Towne Center project and answer questions from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 30 in the auditorium at Winebrenner Seminary on North Main Street.
