BOWLING GREEN Wood Lane Residential Properties Inc. has been awarded a $1,635,600 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to build 14 one-bedroom apartments for adults with disabilities.

The one-story apartment building, which will be built in Bowling Green, will include a community room for recreational activities and special events as well as an apartment for an on-site manager. The grant includes $164,000 for rental subsidy for five years.

Greg Bair, chief executive officer of Wood Lane Residential Services, said clients, their families, and staff have indicated that more housing options are needed in the county.

The complex will allow adults with disabilities to live as independently as possible.
