CECIL, Ohio - An Indiana couple were killed when their car and a tractor-trailer collided head on yesterday on U.S. 127 in Crane Township, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office said.

Marvin Scheumann, 79, and Marcile Scheumann, 77, of Monroeville, were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which occurred about 1:35 p.m. just north of Township Road 200, deputies said.

Their car collided with a semi driven by Warren Himes, of Belleville, Mich., whose age was not listed. A second car, driven by Kevin Vantilburg of Celina, Ohio, also was involved in the collision. Mr. Himes and Mr. Vantilburg were treated for minor injuries, deputies said.

Authorities said last night they were still investigating how the vehicles collided. U.S. 127 was closed for more than five hours while wreckage was cleared from the roadway.
