Sewer line break closes downtown auto title office

A sewer line break has closed the downtown auto title office until at least Wednesday morning, according to the Lucas County Clerk of Courts office.

Individuals and auto dealers needing to complete title business were directed to three other locations: 4900 North McCord Rd. in Sylvania, 4456 Heatherdowns Blvd. in Toledo, and 3034 Navarre Ave. in Oregon.

Larry Loutzenhiser, public information officer for Clerk of Courts Bernie Quilter, said the break was discovered Monday morning inside the building at 1600 Madison Ave. It left the building with no running water, sewer service, or heat, Mr. Loutzenhiser said.

Employees from the title office were shifted to the three other locations to handle additional customer traffic there because of the closure.
