Resident of Bowling Green accused of inducing panic at bar

1/29/2008

BOWLING GREEN - A Bowling Green man who reportedly said he had a gun at a local bar was charged with inducing panic, authorities said.

Ryan Solt, 26, was arrested about 1:20 a.m. yesterday after police were called to Kamikaze's bar on East Wooster Street.

Although several witnesses said they heard Mr. Solt say he had a gun, officers found no gun on Mr. Solt, who told them he had some words with one of the bar's patrons but did not say he had a weapon.

Bowling Green Municipal Judge Mark Reddin released Mr. Solt on his own recognizance yesterday and ordered him to have no contact with the victim and not to threaten anyone or consume alcohol.

Mr. Solt is to be back in court Feb. 13 with an attorney for an initial appearance.
