Woman killed in Dundee Township crash
2/9/2008DUNDEE, Mich. A woman who died when her vehicle went into a ditch about 8:45 p.m. Friday along Dennison Road, south of M-50 in Monroe County s Dundee Township, has been identified as Veronica L. Dorton, 26, of Dundee, authorities said.
Ms. Dorton, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was southbound on Dennison Road when she veered in an attempt to avoid hitting a dog in the roadway. Her vehicle went off the roadway to the west, traveling across a private lot and crashing into a ditch.
Ms. Dorton was wearing a seat belt, according to the Monroe County Sheriff s Office, which is continuing to investigate the crash.
