Traffic on I-75 was snagged for hours Monday after a garbage truck overturned in the northbound lanes of the freeway near the Ottawa River entrance ramp, injuring the driver, authorities said.

The driver, whose name was not released, was conscious and had minor cuts and bruises. He was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated, Toledo firefighters said.

The accident occurred about 9:20 a.m. just south of the entrance ramp, closing the right and center lanes, Toledo police said.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.

The truck was removed from the freeway by 1 p.m., but the two lanes were expected to remain closed for a time it would take the Ohio Department of Transportation to repair a wall damaged by the crash, officers said.
