Bluffton woman dies, Findlay man injured in I-75 collision

BEAVERDAM, Ohio - A Bluffton, Ohio, woman was killed and a Findlay man was hurt yesterday when a car and a tractor-trailer collided on I-75 near this Allen County community, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The accident closed the interstate's northbound lanes for about three hours, troopers said.

Kay Johnson, 38, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

Roy Haynes, 56, the driver of the semi, was admitted to Lima Memorial Hospital in fair condition.

Ms. Johnson was southbound on the freeway about 6 a.m. when her car went across the median and into the northbound lanes, where it hit the semi, which was northbound on the interstate, troopers said. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
