Wood County may regulate residential wind turbines

4/1/2008

BOWLING GREEN - The Wood County Planning Commission is to meet at 5:30 p.m. today to review a plan to regulate construction of wind turbines for residential use in Milton Township.

The proposed zoning regulations, a first in Wood County, had been on last month's agenda, but the meeting was canceled because of bad weather that prevented a quorum from attending.

Also on today's agenda is a final roadway dedication plat submitted by Atwell Hicks and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to continue South Compass Drive to the new Wal-Mart store on U.S. 20 in Perrysburg Township.

The commission also will consider a request to rezone about 4.8 acres on the north side of U.S. 20 and the west side of Lime City Road in Perrysburg Township from R-3 suburban residential to R-4. Applicants Timberstone-Bostleman Joint Venture and George V. Oravecz indicated they want to build a senior multifamily housing apartment complex.

The commission meets on the fifth floor of the County Office Building in the courthouse complex.
