AAA: Gasoline prices up 6 cents across Michigan

DETROIT Gas prices in Michigan are up 6 cents over the past week.

AAA Michigan said Monday the statewide average is $3.43 per gallon. That s 60 cents higher than last year at this time.

Of the cities the state auto club surveyed, the cheapest price is in the Detroit and Traverse City areas, where a gallon costs $3.40 per gallon. The highest average can be found in Marquette at $3.49 per gallon.

The statewide average for biodiesel is $4.24 and $3.08 for ethanol.
