WILLARD, Ohio - A father and son from Greenwich, Ohio, suffered severe injuries in a collision yesterday at an intersection in Huron County's New Haven Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Neither Rickie Noble, 42, nor his 11-year-old son, Damian Noble, was wearing a seat belt when Mr. Noble's pickup collided with a pickup driven by a Willard, Ohio, man at 3:15 p.m at Boughtonville and Walnut roads, troopers at the patrol's Norwalk post said.

The Nobles were flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, where the father was in serious condition and the son in critical condition last night.

Jordan Holthouse, 76, of Willard, and his passenger, Gregory Spears, 27, of Shelby, Ohio, were taken to Willard Mercy Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, troopers said. Both were wearing seat belts.

According to the report, Mr. Holthouse was westbound on Boughtonville and failed to yield at a stop sign at Walnut. He began to turn left into the path of Mr. Noble, who was southbound on Walnut.

No charges were immediately filed, but the state patrol's investigation continues.
