Area fire crews fight multiple blazes

Area fire crews extinguished three fires Monday morning - a vacant house fire in central Toledo, a fire at an unoccupied mobile home in Springfield Township, and a vacant barn fire near the Alvordton community in Williams County. There were no reports of injuries. Springfield Township firefighters arrived at the scene of the mobile home fire at 351 West St. James Court about 10:15 a.m. and had the blaze under control by about 11 a.m. with assistance from the Monclova Township fire department.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Lake Erie and Northwest Ohio. The NWS advises that there is a slight risk that thunderstorms will develop and move across the area today, especially this afternoon and evening. The thunderstorms may become strong to severe. The primary severe weather threat would be from damaging winds.
