Memorial day parades, ceremonies to honor military personnel, veterans

Here is a list of Memorial Day events to be held in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan communities today:

The Zenobia Highlanders and VFW Post 2898 will hold a tribute with a traditional salute at 9 a.m. at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, 4210 West Central Ave.

Parade, 11 a.m., from the National Guard Armory on Maumee Street to Monument Park, where a ceremony will follow.

Memorial Day program, 9:30 a.m. at the Archbold Knights of Columbus on Lutz Road.

Memorial service, 11 a.m. at Lambertville Cemetery.

Memorial services at the Berkey Cemetery at 9 a.m.; at St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Richfield Center at 9:30 a.m.; Immaculate Conception in Marygrove at 10 a.m., and Wolfinger Cemetery service at Secor Park at 10:30 a.m.

Parade, 11 a.m. from the post office on South Lane Street to Pleasant View Cemetery, where a memorial service will follow.

Parade, 10:30 a.m., from Washington Street at Main Street to Court Street. The march continues north on Thurstin Avenue and east on Merry Avenue to Oak Grove Cemetery, where services will follow.

Parade, 9 a.m., from the Kmart on South Main Street to Fountain Grove Cemetery, where a service will follow.

Parade, 9 a.m., from the Defiance Armory on Clinton Street to Riverside Cemetery, where a service will follow.

Parade, 9:15 a.m., from Wood and Main streets to Greenlawn Cemetery, where a Memorial Day program will follow.

Parade, 9:45 a.m. from Dundee High School on Viking Drive to Wolverine Park on M-50, where a service will follow.

Parade, 10:30 a.m., from Woodmore High School on Ames Street. Stops will be made at Clinton and Toledo streets for a dedication, and at Clinton and Rice streets for the main service. A barbecue at the American Legion Post will be held immediately after the parade.

Parade, 10 a.m., from West Front Street to South Main Street to West Main Cross Street to Maple Grove Cemetery, where a service will follow.

Parade, 10 a.m., from Front Street to Roger Young Park.

Memorial service, 10 a.m., at Fountain Cemetery.

Memorial service at 9 a.m. at the Clay Township Cemetery. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held in the Genoa High School auditorium.

Parade, 9:30 a.m., from the American Legion Post north on South Main Street to West Madison Street to West Union Cemetery and back to the Legion post.

Parade, 10:15 a.m., from Otsego Middle School with a stop at Howard Cemetery and ending at Howard Park, where a service will follow.

Memorial Day Observance, 10:30 a.m. In the event of rain, all activities will be in the Jerry City Village Hall.

Service at 8 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, where a memorial service will be held at 9 a.m.

Parade, 9:30 a.m., from Fire Station No. 1 in Walbridge to Lake Township Cemetery on Walbridge Road, where a service will be at 10 a.m.

Memorial Day Service, noon, at Memorial Park.

Parade, 1:30 p.m., from the downtown to Lyons Cemetery.

Parade, 9:30 a.m., from Maumee Methodist Church on Sackett Street to Union Elementary School.

Parade, 2 p.m., starting at Jones Avenue and South Monroe Street and continuing north on South Monroe Street, ending with a wreath-laying ceremony and service at the bridge over the River Raisin.

Parade, 10 a.m., from Henry County Fairgrounds to the center of the Maumee River bridge, where a service will follow.

Memorial service at 10 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park, with a military honors ceremony to be presented by VFW Post 2984.

Parade, 11 a.m. from Oak Harbor Junior High School at Park and Church streets south to Water Street and then west to Union Cemetery, where a memorial service will follow.

Memorial services at the Willow Cemetery at 9 a.m.; St. John's Cemetery at 9:30 a.m.; North Oregon Cemetery at 10 a.m.; St. Ignatius Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.; Oakwood Cemetery at 11 a.m., and Dunburger Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.

Parade, 10:30 a.m., beginning at the Main and Perry streets and continuing to the courthouse, where a memorial service will be held.

Parade, 10 a.m. at Louisiana Avenue and Sixth Street and continuing to Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. A memorial service will follow.

Parade, 10 a.m. at Pettisville Park and continuing to Pettisville Cemetery, where a memorial service will follow. A community potluck will be held at the park at 11:30 a.m. In case of inclement weather, memorial service will be held in the school.

Parade, 9 a.m., from Ohio Veterans Home to Oakland Cemetery, with ceremonies at both locations.

Parade, 10:30 a.m., from Crestwood Elementary School to Veterans' Memorial on Broadway Avenue to Memorial Park on Main Street.

Memorial services at 9 a.m. at Toledo Memorial Park, 6832 Monroe St., and at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church of Sylvania, 521 West Alexis Rd., with a reception to follow at the church at 3:30 p.m. A parade will start at 10 a.m. at Lourdes College. It will go up Convent Boulevard to Main Street, then north to Erie Street and to Veterans Memorial Field, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.

Parade, 10 a.m., from the corner of Maumee Street and M-50 to Brookside Cemetery on Union Street, where a service will follow.

Parade, 10 a.m. from the American Legion Post to Tontogany Cemetery, where a memorial service will follow.

Parade, 9:30 a.m., from the City Hall on Clinton Street to Wauseon Cemetery on West Elm Street, where a memorial service will follow.
