Forecast causes change in I-75 work in North Toledo

5/31/2008

The Ohio Department of Transportation has once again changed its plans for resurfacing northbound I-75 in North Toledo because of a wet weather forecast.

The northbound left lane will close at 8 a.m. today between Phillips Avenue and Ottawa River Road for paving, ODOT announced yesterday. That's a change from the prior plan, under which the right lane was to have closed last night in the same area.

Theresa Pollick, an ODOT spokesman in Bowling Green, said the change was made because of rain forecast for last night. Besides the later start, its main impact on motorists will be that the northbound I-75 exit to southbound I-280 will remain open this weekend.

The closed left lane is scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Monday.

The Manhattan Boulevard entrance to northbound I-280/I-75, which had been closed for pavement repair, reopened yesterday, Ms. Pollick added.
