Findlay man injured after crashing car into house

ARLINGTON, Ohio - A Findlay man was hurt yesterday after apparently falling asleep while driving a car, which struck a light post, a parked car, and a house in the 500 block of South Main Street before coming to rest upside down, the Hancock County Sheriff's Office said.

Joseph Ludwig, 34, was treated at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, a hospital spokesman said.

Mr. Ludwig was northbound on South Main just north of Waterloo Drive about 2 a.m. when he woke up to find his car traveling off the east side of the road. He overcorrected, and the car went off the west side of the road, striking the light post and sliding into the yard at 518 South Main, where his car struck the parked car, deputies said.

The Ludwig car then ricocheted off the vehicle and rolled, crashing into the garage door of the house at that address, deputies said.

No one in the house was hurt. The garage door sustained minor damage.
