Worker hurt at Maumee plant is flown to hospital

An unidentified man was hurt in an industrial accident yesterday morning at a Maumee packaging plant, emergency officials said.

The man, whose name and condition were not released, was flown to Toledo Hospital, according to Lucas County EMS.

The victim, an employee of Pro-Pak Industries Inc., was struck by a fork truck about

10:30 a.m. at the company's location at 1125 Ford St., Maumee fire Chief Rick Monto said.

Scott Armey, a company spokesman, confirmed that an accident occurred, but declined to elaborate.
