Cyclist injured in Lenawee crash

ROLLIN, Mich. - A 51-year-old man who had been drag racing and was being pursued by a law enforcement official was hurt seriously when his motorcycle crashed Saturday in Lenawee County's Rollin Township, authorities said.

Stacy Osborn of Hudson, Mich.., was being pursued by a Lenawee County sheriff's deputy on Plank Road when he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve and toppled into a residential yard at 8:41 p.m.

Mr. Osborn had been drag racing with another motorcycle when he passed the parked deputy, Lenawee County Sheriff's Sgt. David Aungst said.

The pursuit lasted less than two miles and ended on Plank Road near Posey Lake.

Mr. Osborn, who was wearing a safety helmet, reportedly suffered multiple fractures and was flown by helicopter to the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly the Medical College of Ohio Hospital.
