Rodriguez agrees to settle, pay West Virginia $4M

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. West Virginia University says ex-football coach Rich Rodriguez has agreed to pay a $4 million buyout clause after breaking his contract. That would settle the university s lawsuit that had been set for trial this fall. It also may end what has been a bitter public feud. The tentative agreement, which university attorney Tom Flaherty expects will be approved by the WVU Board of Governors later Wednesday, would end a case that had been set for trial this fall. A West Toledo man was being held in the Lucas County jail without bond Wednesday morning after authorities said he tried to kill himself and his 4-year-old daughter by asphyxiation. Thomas Bragg, 46, of 4129 Willys Pkwy. is charged with attempted murder and felonious assault. His arraignment in Toledo Municipal Court is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday.
