ELIDA, Ohio - A Grand Rapids, Mich., woman and her 7-year-old daughter were killed and two other people were hurt yesterday when a car and a van collided at Conant and Piquad roads in Allen County's Marion Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Roxanne R. Bazen, 43, the driver of the car, and her daughter, Nicole, were pronounced dead on the scene, troopers at the patrol's Lima post said.

Mrs. Bazen's son Richard, 13, was treated at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

Dennis L. Louth, 63, of Spencerville, Ohio, who was driving the van, was flown to Ohio State University Medical Center, where he was in critical condition last night, a hospital spokesman said.

Mrs. Bazen was southbound on Conant, which is marked by stop signs at Piquad, when she entered the intersection without stopping about 1 p.m. and was struck broadside on the driver's side by Mr. Louth's van, which was westbound on Piquad, troopers said.

Mr. Louth was thrown from his van, as both vehicles went off the road and came to rest in a cornfield, the troopers reported.
