FINDLAY - GreaterFindlay Inc. yesterday named a Union County economic development official as its new president and chief executive officer.

Eric S. Phillips was hired for the job previously held by Doug Peters. He announced in March that he was leaving to become president of the Cumberland County Business Council in Fayetteville, N.C.

For the past seven years, Mr. Phillips has been the executive director of the Union County-Marysville Economic Development Partnership and chief executive officer of the Union County Chamber of Commerce. In Findlay, he also will serve as vice president of the recently formed Blanchard Valley Port Authority.

It has agreed to contract with GreaterFindlay Inc. for economic development services, according to Chairman Robert Beach. Mr. Phillips is to be a liaison between the agencies and develop a marketing program to promote the port authority's services.
