LIMA, Ohio - A man was killed and two people were hurt yesterday when three vehicles collided at State Rt. 117 and South Cool Road in Allen County's Perry Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Thomas McElroy, 63, whose address was unavailable, was killed. Lydia McElroy, 75, a passenger in the pickup he was driving, whose address was unavailable, was taken to Lima Memorial Hospital, where she was admitted in fair condition, a hospital spokesman said.

The driver of a minivan, Kevin McGraw, 21, whose address was unavailable, was treated at Lima Memorial.

Mr. McElroy was eastbound on Route 117 about 11:30 a.m. and stopped to turn left onto Cool. He was hit from behind by Mr. McGraw's eastbound minivan, troopers said.

The pickup then struck the side of a westbound tractor trailer, which went off the right side of the road and back onto the road before stopping in the eastbound lane. The driver of the rig, Troy Matthews, 38, whose address was unavailable, was not hurt, troopers said.
