Fostoria mayor to renew search for safety chief

FOSTORIA With City Council s refusal to hire North Baltimore Village Administrator Kathy Healy at a salary of $68,500, Mayor John Davoli said he will launch a new search for a safety-service director that could take until October.

At a special meeting Monday, council for the second time failed to read an ordinance that would have set the salary for the position between $68,500 and $72,000.

Mr. Davoli said Ms. Healy, who was waiting in his office, is no longer interested in the job.

He wanted to hire Ms. Healy to take the place of Bill Rains, whom he fired in June without stating a reason. He told council it was wrong for them to do what was wrong for John Davoli rather than what is right for the city of Fostoria.
