Motorcyclist hurt in head-on crash near Fremont

FREMONT A Florida man was hurt when the motorcycle he was driving and a car collided head-on Tuesday night on State Rt. 19 at Thomas Road just north of this Sandusky County community, authorities said.

Theodore Wise, 51, of Miami, Fla., the motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet, was listed in serious condition Wednesday morning in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

The accident occurred about 10:10 p.m. in Sandusky County s Sandusky Township, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The Wise motorcycle was northbound on Route 19 at Thomas when a car driven south on the state route by Robin Armentrout, 44, of Fremont, started to turn left onto eastbound Thomas and drove into the path of the motorcycle. The two vehicles collided head-on, throwing the motorcyclist off the bike, troopers at the patrol s Fremont post said.

The car driver, who had no passengers, was not injured in the crash, troopers said.

Fremont is about 30 miles southeast of Toledo.
