2 from Mich. hurt in crash in Ottawa County

PORT CLINTON - Two Oakland County, Michigan, residents were hurt, one critically, when they were thrown from a motorcycle after it drifted off the left side of the road and hit a guardrail on State Rt. 2, southwest of Port Clinton, authorities said.

Barbara Haney, 38, of Waterford, who was driving the motorcycle east at about 1:25 p.m. yesterday, was in fair condition in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, where a passenger Neal McCollum, 50, of Clarkston, was listed in critical condition.

They were flown to the medical center, according to troopers with the Sandusky post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Neither the driver nor the passenger wore a helmet.
