Lenawee County man killed in vehicular accident
8/13/2008ADRIAN A Manitou Beach., Mich. man was killed Tuesday morning when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a truck at U.S. 12 and Pentecost Highway in Lenawee County s Franklin Township, authorities said.
TodiePhillips, 49, the motorcyclist, was pronounced dead at the scene, Michigan State Police said.
Mr. Phillips was eastbound on U.S. 12 about 9:20 a.m. when he swerved the motorcycle to avoid hitting a truck, driven by Paul Park, 32, of Jackson, Mich., who was turning left from westbound U.S. 12 onto southbound Pentecost, state police in Adrian said.
Mr. Phillips avoided collision but was thrown from the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet, officers said.
The crash occurred about 12 miles northwest of Adrian, which is about 30 miles northwest of Toledo. The accident remained under investigation Wednesday.
