February events at Toledo School for the Arts include dance-drums show

The Toledo School for the Arts, 333 14th St., is scheduled to hold the following events at the school.

An Afro-Caribbean Dance & Drums performance at 7 p.m. Feb. 17. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors.

A Black History Experience, featuring speeches, dances, artwork, and music at 7 p.m. Feb. 19. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors.

The play Thank You for Flushing My Head in the Toilet, at 7 p.m. Feb. 24-26. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors.

A Guitar Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 28. The daylong events include clinics, workshops, and jam sessions. Guest artists are Nashville songwriter Ted Schwarts; guitarist Joe Boes (Mojo Boes & His Noble Jones); Rick Zeithaml (the Nu-Tones); Wayne State University guitar teacher-performer Lee Dyament, jazz musician Nathan Montgomery; Randy Sobel (East River Drive), and Ken Zuercher (Hep Cat Revival). A jazz cabaret is slated at 8 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Franciscan Theatre & Conference Center at Lourdes College, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania. Doors open at 7. Tickets are $10 from 419-246-8732 ext. 2 or 419-824-3999.
