Green Springs man killed in Erie County traffic crash

BERLIN HEIGHTS, Ohio - A Green Springs, Ohio, man was killed in a crash Tuesday on Mason Road and State Rt. 61 in eastern Erie County, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Billy B. McGough, 37, was driving east on Mason shortly after 5 p.m. in a Jeep Grand Cherokee and failed to stop at the intersection with State Rt. 61.

The Jeep was struck by a Chevrolet Trail Blazer that was southbound on Route 61. It spun around in the roadway, went off the left side of Route 61, went into a ditch, struck a rock, and overturned, troopers at the Sandusky post said.

Mr. McGough was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Trail Blazer went off the left side of Route 61 and stopped in a ditch. Its driver, Tracy O. Daniel, 38, of Willard, Ohio, was treated at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, along with her passenger, Allison Daniel, 12.

The two drivers and passenger wore seatbelts, troopers said.
