St. Martin de Porres to host peace activist
3/17/2010Mary Shapiro, a Washington-based peace activist and singer/songwriter, will perform a concert at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 1119 West Bancroft St., at 5 p.m. March 21.
Inspired by artists from Joan Baez to Jack Johnson, Mary's music spans many genres: gospel, folk, rock and soul.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Servant Non-Profit Leadership Center of Toledo, which works with individuals and organizations through small group processes for personal spiritual development to examine systemic injustice and misuse of power in the world.
