OAK HARBOR, Ohio — A Port Clinton woman was injured Sunday in a one-car crash on State Rt. 53 in Ottawa County, troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol's Sandusky post said.

The injured driver, Amy M. Schau, 22, was flown to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, where her condition was not available.

Ms. Schau was driving a sport utility vehicle south in Bay Township when it went off the road and struck some bushes, a utility pole guide wire, and a tree before stopping.

Troopers said a witness said Ms. Schau appeared to have lost consciousness before going off the road. Ms. Schau was not wearing her safety belt and her injures were “incapacitating,” troopers said.
