The Knights finished with a 17-2 record. They defeated Central Catholic (13-1), Kenston (13-8), and Walsh Jesuit (13-7) to reach the regional final in their tournament run. But St. Francis then lost 14-4 to University School in the state semis.

Up until this spring, the Southview team had been united with the Northview team to form a club team called the Leafs. The Sylvania Leafs won the last three high school state club titles.

At the club level this season, Ottawa Hills beat Eastlake 17-4 in the opening round, but then lost to Orange 20-6 in the second round.
