Eastwood's Welch honored by Gatorade

Eastwood's Justin Welch was named Gatorade's Ohio boys track and field athlete of the year.

The senior won the shot put and the discus titles in Division II at this year's state meet. Welch won the shot at 62 feet, 11 3/4 inches on his final toss, then won his second discus title with a toss of 197-1.

Welch, who has signed a national letter of intent to throw for the University of Georgia, also won the D-II discus title last year.
